The Modernista Sant Pau<\/strong> Complex<\/strong> is located only a few minuets walking from the Sagrada Familia<\/strong> and was built between 1905 and 1930.<\/p>\n

Declared World Heritage by the UNESCO<\/strong> in 1997 for its singularity and artistic beauty, the Art Nouveau Site comprises an architectural complex of 12 pavilions set in green space and interconnected by a kilometre of underground galleries.<\/p>\n

A city within the city. Sant Pau is the world\u2019s largest Art Nouveau complex, as well as being the most important work by Llu\u00eds Dom\u00e8nech i Montaner<\/strong>, the architect of Modernisme, the Catalan Art Nouveau.<\/p>\n

The visit includes the hypostyle hall<\/strong>, originally home to the Hospital\u2019s emergency service. A series of the tunnels leads to the Sant Salvador Pavilion<\/strong>, the first building to be brought into operation in 1916. The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, the<\/strong> Gardens,<\/strong>\u00a0Operations House<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Sant Rafael Pavilion<\/strong>, with a historical recreation and the exhibition\u00a0Patient and Doctor, from Narration to Objectivity<\/em>.The tour ends in the\u00a0Administration Pavilion<\/strong>, the most outstanding building on the site.<\/p>\n
